How does Yoga improve your brain health?

Brain & Yoga – a connection that is quite amicable: a relationship which can be healthier if you as an individual bring it into the experience. Yoga not only helps you relax but also lowers down your stress & anxiety levels. Today, in the present scenario, everyone is disturbed by something in some or the other way. So beyond the physical, Yoga leaves a positive impact on your brain.

You can’t always control what goes on outside, but you can always control what goes on inside.”

Let’s dive into a little science of the brain.

Normally, the human brain consists of white (60%) and gray (40%) matter which plays an important role in healthy cognitive functioning. While you are alive, the gray matter is pink in color because of the continuous flow of blood in the cells. This grat matter is responsible for learning skills, memory, interpreting things, and the sense of sight, hearing, smell & touch. Additionally, it affects muscle control & self-awareness.
On the other hand, white matter makes connections to send and receive signals as the internet. It coordinates your thoughts with your movements. In general, both white and gray matter complement each other to think, coordinate movements, and interpret the things surrounding you. All your cognitive abilities get affected if any of the two gets damaged or reduced.

Practicing Yoga not only helps you in achieving brain-boosting benefits but also changes your brain structure in some notable ways. Yoga Asanas can help you stay physically healthy but your mental health is equally crucial.

Why should you make Yoga a part of your daily routine?

As I have mentioned above, Yoga techniques like the Super Brain Yoga can have a remarkable impact on your physical and mental health. There are various reasons why the years-old practice of Yoga has proved to be beneficial to mankind:-

  • Helps you learn more
I have been a Mind Performance Coach for a long time now and in my training programs where I teach people how to learn more and memorize more, I make sure that the trainees’ minds are relaxed enough to be able to grasp more information. Yoga proves to be very beneficial in this case.
  • Lesser efforts, higher benefits
Compared to rigorous physical training programs, Yoga requires relatively lower efforts. The benefits are both physical and mental and last for the long-term. If I had the choice of going to a top-class full facilitated gym, I would still prefer practicing Yoga in a calm environment.

Stress Buster

  • Yoga has a lot to do with a calm mind. The calmer you are, the better you cope up with negativity. It helps you have control over your brain, helping you stay calm in even the worst conditions.

It is rightly said that “The nature of Yoga is to shine the light of awareness into the darkest corners of the body.”

Help yourself transform into the best and smartest version of yourself with a little bit of Yoga each day. It’s your time to stand out from the crowd and shine.
